Product Manager, Nephrology

Summary of Purpose:

As part of the Core Brand Team, the Product Manager will develop strategies as well as lead the development and implementation of tactics in support to launch a new product in nephrology. The individual selected for this position will also be responsible to drive brand excellence, including working in close collaboration with commercial and medical colleagues to deliver the launch plan, the brand plan, field team POAs and necessary training plans, as well as high quality medical education activities and programs for targeted health care providers.

Primary responsibilities will include the development and implementation of the brand plan, including integrating customer focused education and support programs. In addition, the Product Manager will lead the development of innovative engagement programs for effective peer-to-peer interactions; standardize and improve speaker engagement/experience to enhance program quality; and manage the promotional and medical education agencies’ activities, budget and deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop focused strategic and tactical plans for the brand, including monitoring of brand performance based on understanding of the market
  • Assist the broader brand team in the implementation of strategic and tactical plans for the product, including interfacing with Sales Management, PSP and Market Research to drive results
  • Work with Legal, Medical, Regulatory and Compliance to get promotional materials, programs, and training initiatives reviewed and approved
  • Oversee agency partners’ activities to ensure timely and optimal delivery execution of the tactics and programs, including the CME platform
  • Serve as marketing liaison to the field team at National Sales and Plan of Action Meetings and at Marketing Advisory Board and Project Team Meetings
  • Identify market opportunities and customer targets through competitive analysis, positioning, and marketing strategy assessments. Identify specific distribution or channel issues and provide appropriate management
  • Analyze product performance and inventory management of the marketed product
  • Support forecasting and pricing teams
  • Communicate strategic and tactical plans to the US, Canadian senior management and the specialty sales force
  • Report Safety Information, Product Quality Complaint and Customer Feedback as per training on current procedures

Qualifications and Key Competencies:

  • B.A. or B.Sc. degree required
  • Five or more years of pharmaceutical experience in product management. Previous experience in nephrology an asset with ideally specialty experience. CME management and knowledge of PSP program management also assets
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical legal, regulatory, and medical processes required
  • Ability to develop consistent, well-supported, competitive strategies.  Proven leadership, strategic, and analytical abilities
  • Strong team-building skills, a team-oriented approach, and supportive management style are required
  • Strong written and oral communication skills as well as good presentation skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bilingual French and English
  • Travel required (approximately 20-25%)
