Manager, External Relations

Summary of Purpose:

The External Relations Manager is responsible for the identification and communication of emerging health policy changes (public and private) and for supporting the Canadian team’s engagement with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and successful deliver stakeholder engagement plans in support of the overarching stakeholder engagement strategy. This is a Field based role that relies on both virtual and in-person meetings with key stakeholders
  • Supports the Associate Director, External relations throughout all phases of stakeholder engagement initiatives including with Patient and Caregiver Organizations, HCPs, and Government Stakeholders
  • Works closely with the Market Access Manager – Private Payors to help OCPI establish and maintain strong working relationships with key Private Payor stakeholders
  • Proactively identifies emerging government health policy changes and cost containment initiatives in the marketplace. Keeps the Canadian team up to date
  • Supports the stakeholder input process for HTA and, as needed, Private Payors
  • Works with the Canadian cross-functional team and, as necessary, Global teams to support Canadian plans over the course of the product lifecycle
  • Reporting Safety Information, Product Quality Complaint and Customer Feedback as per training on current procedures

Qualifications and Key Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Pharmacy or Law
  • 3-5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry in an external relations or market access capacity
  • Experience and success with stakeholder advocacy campaigns
  • Working knowledge of Canadian reimbursement pathways is an asset
  • Strong business analytics skills, understanding of commercial objectives and processes
  • Analysis of competitive intelligence and adapting plans accordingly
  • Current relationships with key external stakeholders across Canada is an asset
  • Awareness of current political leadership and government health policy trends
  • Past service on related IMC committees would be a valued asset
  • CNS-Mental Health, Nephrology, Digital Medicine experience would be valued
