Manager, CNS Medical Education

Summary of Purpose:

The CNS Medical Education Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating high-quality medical education initiatives that support the scientific understanding and appropriate use of the CNS portfolio brands. This role works collaboratively within the Marketing & Sales team and cross-functionally with the Medical Affairs and Compliance teams to deliver effective education solutions for healthcare professionals (HCPs), including Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs and Other Learning Activities (OLA). The CNS Medical Education Manager ensures all initiatives are compliant with Canadian regulatory, HCP, industry and internal standards and align with strategic business objectives and HCP needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement medical education strategies for the CNS therapeutic area aligned with business priorities and HCP needs.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify HCP educational gaps and inform topics and learning objectives.
  • Develop evaluation surveys and review feedback received on educational initiatives to improve future programs/events.
  • Design multi-channel education programs (live, virtual, digital) grounded in adult learning principles.

Program Development & Management

  • Lead development of educational content, working with key opinion leaders (KOLs), faculty, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage programs (accredited and unaccredited programs, international speaker tours and other assigned initiatives), including budgets, vendor and partner relationships, approvals, implementation, documentation and timelines to ensure successful deployment.
  • Collect and analyze data/metrics to measure outcomes, inform future program improvements and enhance patient outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with HCPs and HCP organizations, including CPD providers.
  • Act as a resource for field teams, providing coaching on medical education tactics.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all educational initiatives comply with Innovative Medicines Canada’s Code of Ethical Practices, Health Canada’s guidance, Otsuka and HCP association’s CHE/CPD/OLA and other applicable standards.
  • Perform review/approval of needs assessments and OLA events as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and adult learning best practices.
  • Reporting Safety Information, Product Quality Complaint and Customer Feedback as per training on current procedures

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align medical education with overall brand strategy.
  • Deliver presentations and training on initiatives and areas of expertise.
  • Act as the in-house expert on accreditation of activities and HCP learning programs.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications & Key Competencies:

  • BA or BSc degree required, preferably with a science background
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, medical education, or medical affairs
  • Strategic thinking with business acumen and ability to translate insights into impactful programs
  • Knowledge and implementation of adult learning techniques
  • Understanding of the healthcare system and key stakeholders
  • Understanding of the medical industry and codes of practice
  • Experience with national medical education planning, scientific engagement, and program execution is highly preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including group presentations
  • Strong project management skills with capacity to manage multiple initiatives concurrently
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills
  • CCPE (Continuous Professional Development) or equivalent certification in medical/continuing health education is preferred or must be completed after hire
  • Willingness to travel (regionally and nationally)
